Smart home and A/V systems, west of the Susquehanna Valley.
We now take projects through the Alleghenies — Altoona, Hollidaysburg, Duncansville, and Huntingdon, out to Raystown Lake. The same design-first systems we build in Central PA, brought to a part of the state where installers like us are hard to find.
For years, the calls from Altoona and Huntingdon ended the same way: we'd explain we were a Harrisburg outfit, and the homeowner would explain there was nobody like us out there. So we changed the answer. We now schedule project work through Blair and Huntingdon counties — full smart home, lighting, audio, network, and security installations, planned in efficient project visits rather than one-off service calls. The drive is real, so we design each trip to count.
Designing for Western Pennsylvania's homes.
This side of the state has housing character you don't find in the Harrisburg suburbs. Altoona's railroad-era neighborhoods are full of solid early-1900s brick and frame homes — plaster walls, deep porches, the construction quirks we know well from Midtown Harrisburg. Hollidaysburg's historic district brings well-kept Victorian and Federal-style homes where the technology has to disappear into original architecture. Logan Township and the newer development around Altoona look more like modern suburban construction, wide open for whole-home systems. And then there's Raystown Lake — vacation homes and full-time lake properties where outdoor entertainment, remote monitoring, and resilient connectivity aren't luxuries, they're the whole point of the project.
Where we work.
Altoona
Blair County's hub. Railroad-era brick and frame neighborhoods with the same plaster-wall retrofit challenges we solve in Harrisburg's historic districts, plus newer Logan Township construction suited to full whole-home systems. Residential and small-commercial work alike.
Hollidaysburg
The county seat, with one of the region's best-preserved historic districts. Victorian and Federal-era homes where lighting control, audio, and security have to respect original trim, plaster, and architecture — retrofit work we've spent years getting right in homes like these.
Duncansville
Small-borough homes and surrounding township properties along the old Route 22 corridor. Focused projects — clean TV and audio installations, network overhauls, camera systems — done in a single well-planned visit.
Huntingdon & Raystown Lake
The county seat and the lake country around it. Lake homes are a specialty fit for us: outdoor audio and TVs built for real weather, camera systems you can check from two hours away, and connectivity design for properties beyond the cable footprint — Starlink, fixed wireless, and networks that don't depend on the cloud.
What we run into in Western Pennsylvania.
Connectivity beyond the cable footprint
Much of Huntingdon County and the townships around Altoona sit outside cable and fiber coverage. We design systems for the internet that's actually available — Starlink, 5G home internet, local fixed wireless — with local camera storage and local-first automation so the home works fully even when the connection is thin or down. This is a core specialty, not an afterthought.
Second homes that need to run themselves
Raystown Lake properties often sit empty for weeks at a time. That changes the design: cameras with local recording you can review remotely, leak and temperature monitoring, lighting that makes the house look lived-in, and systems that recover gracefully after power blips — because nobody is there to reboot a router.
Historic construction in Altoona and Hollidaysburg
Plaster and lath, original trim, thick old walls — the same construction that blocks Wi-Fi and scares off installers. Wireless Lutron systems, carefully fished PoE and network runs, and wired access points let us bring these homes fully up to date without wrecking what makes them worth owning.
Distance, and how we handle it
We're honest about the geography: we're based in Harrisburg, roughly two hours east. Western PA work is scheduled as dedicated project days — walkthrough, design, then installation visits planned to complete whole phases at a time. It means slightly more up-front planning than a local call, and it means the work gets done efficiently when we're there.
What Western Pennsylvania homeowners ask us.
Bring us to your Western Pennsylvania home.
A walkthrough is the only way to know what your home actually needs. Western PA projects start with a scheduled walkthrough visit — we'll plan it around your property, from Altoona to Raystown Lake.
