We're 15 minutes from Hershey. Most of our Hershey-area work happens in the surrounding townships — Palmyra, Hummelstown, Derry — where homes tend to sit on real land and the system has to handle the inside and the outside as one. We design with that in mind from the start.
Hershey-area homes split into two patterns. The older borough properties around Chocolate Avenue and the established neighborhoods near Hersheypark tend to be smaller-footprint with mature landscaping and renovation potential. The newer construction in Derry Township and the surrounding areas — plus Palmyra and Campbelltown — leans larger, with more outdoor space, and the kinds of features (decks, patios, three-car garages, often EV charging needs) that benefit from being part of an integrated system rather than a stack of separate installations. We see both. We design differently for each.

Designing for outdoor use means using IP-rated equipment that will survive Pennsylvania weather, planning conduit and power runs for future expansion (so adding speakers or cameras later doesn't mean a tear-out), and treating exterior systems as part of the home rather than a bolt-on.
Tesla wall connectors and other EV chargers belong in the smart home conversation, not adjacent to it. We coordinate panel capacity, conduit routing, and Josh.ai voice control integration during the design phase so charging schedules, energy monitoring, and home automation work as one system. Most installers treat EV charging as an electrical sub-job. We don't.
Hershey-area homeowners often add outdoor living space — new decks, patio expansions, pool surrounds — after they move in. The right time to plan outdoor audio, lighting, and network coverage for those areas is during that construction, not after the boards are down. We coordinate with the deck builder and the homeowner so wiring goes in clean.
