Working in Harrisburg

We're based in Harrisburg. Our office is on Paxton Street. Most of the work we do — homes and businesses both — is within a twenty-minute drive. Designing for this city means designing for the housing stock that's actually here, and for the businesses operating out of it. That's a wider range than most installers cover, and it's the work we've ended up specializing in.

The Housing Here

Designing for Harrisburg's homes.

Harrisburg's residential character runs the full historical span. Midtown is dominated by 1900s brick rowhomes — narrow footprints, plaster walls, original wood trim. Many of those rowhomes double as small business storefronts at street level, so a typical project here might be POS security and access control for a downtown business and a Schlage smart-lock system for the apartment above it. Uptown brings larger historic homes where camera and security work tends to dominate. Susquehanna Township is mid-century ranches and split-levels — most projects here are focused entertainment work like clean TV mounts and finished-basement audio rather than full-system retrofits. And Linglestown is where most of the new construction is happening, usually on properties with significant outdoor exposure, where exterior lighting, weatherproof cameras, and landscape audio are part of the install from day one.

Neighborhoods We Work In

Where we've installed.

Midtown

Mixed commercial and residential work. Schlage smart locks and Ubiquiti UniFi camera networks for the historic rowhomes. POS security and commercial buildouts for the businesses operating from those same rowhomes' street-level storefronts — including the buildout we did for FLTBYS, LLC, the independent Brooklyn-based label and apparel brand founded by hip-hop artist Kota The Friend, at their Midtown Harrisburg location.

Uptown / Italian Lake

Residential security focus. Camera systems, smart locks, and access control for the larger historic homes uphill from downtown. Plaster walls and older electrical are typical, so wireless Lutron and PoE camera installs are usually the right approach.

Susquehanna Township

Mid-century ranches and split-levels. Most projects here are smaller-scope, entertainment-driven work — TV mounting done cleanly, focused AV upgrades, finished-basement audio. Homeowners here typically want one thing done right, not a whole-system overhaul.

Linglestown / North Hanover

New construction and larger residential. Significant outdoor exposure on most properties means projects regularly include exterior lighting design, outdoor cameras, landscape audio, and integrated terrace/pool systems. Active working relationship with McNaughton Homes — Central PA's 40-year homebuilder, who builds extensively in Lower Paxton Township — on pre-wire and system integration during their new construction.

Local Considerations

What we run into in Harrisburg.

Plaster walls in older Midtown and Uptown homes

Most installers either avoid plaster or punch through it without thinking. Wireless Lutron systems (Caseta, RadioRA 3) let us add architectural lighting and smart switches to plaster-walled homes without major drywall work. PoE camera installs and Ubiquiti networks can be run cleanly along trim and through closets. We don't take down walls we can't put back together that day.

Mixed commercial and residential in the same building

A lot of Midtown rowhomes have a storefront downstairs and apartments above. We've gotten good at designing systems that handle both — POS security and access control for the business, separate Schlage and camera coverage for the residential side, all running on isolated VLANs over a single Ubiquiti network. One install, two clean systems.

Outdoor exposure on Linglestown properties

Linglestown homes tend to sit on real land. Outdoor cameras, landscape lighting, exterior audio, and EV charger runs all need to be planned for the actual weather here — IP67-rated equipment, conduit where it counts, weather-resistant junctions. We design with the assumption that the system has to survive Pennsylvania winters, not just look good in May.

From Harrisburg Clients

In their words.

Tygerr did an absolutely beautiful job mounting my new 60-inch Samsung TV. The installation was flawless and seamless, and he went above and beyond to hide the wires, giving my setup a clean and professional look. Tygerr was extremely professional, respectful of my space, and made sure everything was perfect before he left.

Common Questions

What Harrisburg homeowners ask us.

Yes. We've worked in Midtown, Uptown, and the surrounding historic neighborhoods regularly. Wireless systems — Lutron Caseta, Lutron RadioRA 3, Schlage smart locks, Ubiquiti UniFi cameras over PoE — let us add lighting control, security, and access without invasive rewiring of plaster-walled, original-trim homes. We respect the architecture: the technology disappears into the home rather than overtaking it.
Both. We do commercial security, POS protection, and access control for businesses around Harrisburg — including buildouts for downtown commercial spaces — alongside the residential work. A lot of the Midtown rowhomes we install in have a business operating at street level and apartments above, so handling both is part of how we work.
Yes. Lutron Caseta and RadioRA 3 are wireless systems specifically designed to retrofit into existing homes — including plaster walls. Most installations require no drywall work at all. Where physical wiring is needed (for new fixtures or motorized shades), we work with electricians who understand old construction.
Yes — new construction is a significant part of what we do, especially in Linglestown and North Hanover where many of the new homes have substantial outdoor exposure. We have an active working relationship with McNaughton Homes — Central PA's 40-year homebuilder — coordinating pre-wire and integration on their new construction. Working with builders during pre-wire lets us plan keypads, low-voltage drops, exterior lighting circuits, weatherproof camera infrastructure, network runs, and dedicated circuits before drywall. Coordinating early prevents change orders later.
Depends on the property, but the common elements are: dimmable architectural lighting on the home's exterior architecture, path and accent lighting through the landscape, weatherproof PoE cameras with full-property coverage, outdoor audio integrated with the interior system, and astronomical timeclock control so everything turns on at sunset and off at the right hour automatically. All of it designed to survive Pennsylvania winters.
Yes. Our office is at 1920 Paxton Street, Unit B. We live and work here, and most of our projects are within a 20-30 minute drive.
We serve the full Central PA region — Harrisburg, York, Lancaster, Hershey, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, Hummelstown, Lemoyne, and the surrounding areas. Most projects are within 45 minutes of our Harrisburg office.
